3 bands with outstanding live qualities on an evening in the Rockhouse Bar this next 20.2.2020!
AIMING FOR ENRIKE
It may not sound like that, but in fact Aiming For Enrike only consists only of 2 musicians on 2 instruments: a guitar and a drum kit. Even more difficult to believe is the fact that their album was recorded 100% live in the studio.
Together, Aiming For Enrike created their own universe. It's all about what happens between the two. You hear what you see, and what you hear is pure joy, for the audience and for the band.
They are just back from a US tour, not their first, in 2018 the duo has already been invited to the SXSW. At the last DAWN festival, they have transformed the audience into a thundering particle cluster in no time at all. They have recently recorded a fabulous audio-editing session, and their new album, "Music For Working Out", will be released in January 2020, much more closely aligned with the structures of electronic music, not least because of their influence on artists such as Burial and Jon Hopkins.
HAIKU GARDEN
Haiku Garden are 4 young dudes from Ljubljana, Slovenia. They play loud, guitar-driven music, intertwined with wonderful vocal harmonies. Shoegaze, Dreampop, Neo-Psych and Noise Rock, all etiquette in the equation. During their performances, the band is draped in visuals, a not inconsiderable part of the experience.
They played the renowned Ment Festival several times, supported the band Suuns and the legendary Jesus & The Mary Chain. Her song "Rosetta" was picked up by Seattle's world-renowned broadcaster KEXP. For next year they have just been confirmed in the program of Europe's largest conference festival, Eurosonic.
THE VELVET SWING
The Velvet Swing are a psychedelic / surf rock trio from Salzburg. Consisting of Philip Paulus (guitar, vocals, Mellotron), Jürgen Schoiber (guitar, Mellotron) and Elena Rodriguez (drums, percussion). Through bands like The Brian Jonestown Massacre and the Black Angels, the band was first formed in 2017 by Philip Paulus as a solo project. After releasing the first EP in November 2018, a band formed to present the project live on stage. The second EP entitled SACRED SPRING was published in March 2019. The title SACRED SPRING (Holy Spring / Ver Sacrum) was inspired by the artists' association of the Vienna Secession. Currently The Velvet Swing are working on their debut album which will be released in spring 2020.
